When we reach out to others; the Lord is glorified. "And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto Me." (Matthew 25:40) The Lord is telling us that if we have helped a person in need, we have helped the One that has helped us. At one time we were in great need, and the Spirit influenced someone to give us a helping hand.
The more people we bring to our Savior, the greater the rejoicing will be. I want the whole world to know why I sing.
"In my own little world it hardly ever rains
I’ve never gone hungry, always felt safe
I got some money in my pocket, shoes on my feet
In my own little world
Population me
I try to stay awake through the Sunday morning church
I throw a twenty in the plate but I never give ’til it hurts
and I turn off the news when I don’t like what I see
it’s easy to do when it’s
population me
What if there’s a bigger picture
what if I’m missing out
What if there’s a greater purpose
I could be living right now
outside my own little world
Stopped at the red light, looked out my window
Outside the car, saw a sign, said “Help this homeless widow”
Just above this sign was the face of a human
I thought to myself, “God, what have I been doing?”
So I rolled down my window and I looked her in the eye
Oh how many times have I just passed her by
I gave her some money then I drove on through
in my own little world there’s
Population two
What if there’s a bigger picture
what if I’m missing out
What if there’s a greater purpose
I could be living right now
outside my own little world
Start breaking my heart for what breaks Yours
give me open hands and open doors
put Your light in my eyes and let me see
that my own little world is not about me"
("My Own Little World"- Matthew West)
Let the love of Christ be spread abroad. "Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in our hearts to the Lord." (Colossians 3:16) We have much to be thankful for, and out of that abundance let us share with those that lack. I tend to wonder about what people will do with what I have given them, but that should not be any concern of mine. The Lord knows the heart of the person. I exhort you to give of what you have and the Lord will do the blessing.
